Expertise

A mom of two, Kathy is passionately committed to sharing the honest, helpful—and often humorous—stories of motherhood, as she navigates her own everyday adventures of work, marriage, and parenting.

Experience

Kathy’s writing career began in second grade when she (self) published the short story, My Brother the Brat. Later, in high school, Kathy’s English teacher encouraged her to do something with her writing, but it took nearly two decades for her to listen. Instead, she honed her creative and strategic skills at advertising agencies in Detroit and Chicago, before pivoting from marketing to editorial. Now instead of telling brand stories, she’s sharing her own, with articles published across popular parenting sites—including hundreds of stories on The Everymom.

Kathy holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from Marquette University.

Fun Stuff

When not working or parenting, Kathy would love to be reading on a beach chair, exploring an antique store, or grabbing drinks with her girlfriends. She’s forever updating her 100-year-old house and always planning her next trip to Disney World.
