Stocking stuffers are usually the last thing on my shopping list. But once I start buying them, it’s a slippery slope towards December 24 as I wonder over and over again if I have enough stocking stuffers. I’ll start grabbing random items in the checkout lane at Home Goods, Target, or the grocery store. Maybe it’s because I remember the magic of Christmas morning. As a kid, our stockings were usually full of fun surprises that weren’t on our lists, and we were able to open them first while our parents stayed in bed sleeping for a few extra minutes.
Now that I’m a parent, stockings are a collection of thoughtful, practical, fun, and affordable items. In addition to candy and a few small gifts, I usually pop in a pair of silly socks, a toothbrush, or a box of character bandaids — which, at my kids’ ages, is nearly as exciting as the actual toys. Plus, I can’t forget about stockings for my husband, me, and the dog, lest the kids think we were all on the naughty list this year. So, enjoy browsing this list of stocking stuffer ideas for the whole family, including babies, kids, adults, and even our furry family members.
