I’m Trying a New Fertility Supplement—Here Are My Honest Thoughts

My husband and I have been trying to conceive since July 2023 after our daughter turned one, and the worst part for me has been the waiting game. Every month I wait for my fertile window and then I wait again to see if we made a baby. And when it’s a negative test, I’m waiting to try all over again. It’s a disheartening cycle to be in, which I’m sure many other hopeful moms can relate to. After trying for over a year on our own, I went to see my OBGYN who ran a series of tests and recommended me to a fertility specialist.

Since visiting my fertility specialist, we are now in the stage of procedures, tests, medication, and monitoring that will hopefully result in a pregnancy. I feel more optimistic now that I have a doctor I trust in my corner and we have an action plan. Right now, my biggest goal is to take advantage of this waiting period by doing everything I can to support my body and fertility. I’ve learned so much about my body and fertility in general throughout this process, and that’s been helping me feel like I’m pushing towards the goal.

In addition to cycle tracking, improving my diet, and setting more movement goals, I’ve also started trying Ritual’s new Fertility Support supplement. My coworkers and other mom friends have spoken highly about Ritual supplements because of their traceable ingredients, so I was excited to test them out for myself. Especially since their fertility supplement was designed in partnership with an OBGYN and leading fertility specialist. Now that I’ve taken Ritual Fertility Support for a full cycle, here are my honest thoughts so far: *

How is Ritual Fertility Support formulated to work?

Fertility Support is a 3-in-1 supplement formulated as a lemon-flavored (with other natural flavors) drink mix. While Ritual was developing it, they actually discovered a woman’s peak reproductive years are between the late teens and late 20s, with some research indicating that peak fertility among American women is at age 22 with an ideal first pregnancy at age 23. I was shocked to learn this because, like most of my friends in my circle, I was nowhere near thinking of bringing a baby into the world at 23. By age 30, most women have a 1 in 5 chance of becoming pregnant per cycle, whereas by age 40, the odds drop to 1 in 20 per cycle. Therefore, Ritual’s Fertility Support is formulated to help support conception outcomes. It includes three clinically studied ingredients—CoQ10, NAC, and Myo-Inositol. More specifically, when taken twice daily, Fertility Support has:*

  • 200mg of CoQ10 to help support follicular health(and its in a form that’s 2.7 times more bioavailable than standard CoQ10)*
  • 1.2g of NAC to help support ovarian health and also provides antioxidant support*
  • 4g of Myo-Inositol which promotes normal ovulation cycles and helps support healthy hormone levels*

Something I recently learned from my fertility specialist is how helpful it is to start prepping your body before actively starting the TTC journey. Ritual recommends starting Fertility Support three months prior to a fertility milestone, which showed me how much they listened to fertility specialists while designing this supplement as well. My experience with Ritual Fertility Support

After learning all this, I was eager to incorporate Fertility Support into my daily routine. There are two servings daily, one in the morning and one at night. Even though I felt a tad skeptical about how well it would dissolve in water before my first try, I was pleasantly surprised at how perfectly it disappeared in an ice-cold glass. I mix it in any 8-12 oz of liquid, add 1 scoop of powder, then mix with a spoon, frother, or shaker bottle. I noticed there were little yellow particles the first time I stirred the powder and read on Ritual’s site it’s the clinically studied CoQ10 ingredient. But I never get any grainy texture or weird tastes even if there are still some visible remnants.*

The light lemon taste is subtle but present enough to make drinking water not feel like a chore, almost like a light lemonade. In the mornings I’m in a hurry, I’ll toss some in my water bottle so even if I’m chasing after my 2.5-year-old, I’ll eventually finish it. Now that I’m more mindful about my diet, I also appreciate that Fertility Support is a vegan formula with no synthetic colorants, major allergen-free, and contains zero sugar. Like all of Ritual’s supplements, it’s Made Traceable and third-party tested for microbes and heavy metals, which gives me instant peace of mind. I’ve taken it before or after a meal and have had no side effects or an upset stomach either. If taking other supplements was this easy and tasty, I’d be the healthiest gal on the planet.*
