From SnotSuckers to postpartum packages to insemination kits, Frida, the popular company known for disrupting the parenting space, just released a campaign for its newest creation that no one was expecting—Frida Breast Milk Ice Cream. Yes, you read that right. Breast milk ice cream. If you’re like our Social Media Editor, Lex, and Instagram user @kristinaharrill who asked, “Is it [an early] April Fools’ Day [joke]? 😂😂😂,” the company said they would never “nip slip” like that.

Frida made the announcement on March 26, 2025, that their breast milk ice cream is “DUE IN 9 MONTHS🍦.” Pretty clever there, Frida. It seems like we’ll all be looking out for an ice cream-themed baby shower invitation in our future. Suddenly, the “buttery nipple shot” has a whole new meaning. If you’re like me, I had questions. So, let’s break down what we know so far about the Frida Breast Milk Ice Cream.

Why Frida Is Making Breast Milk Ice Cream

Stating, “We’ve been obsessed with feeding babies for forever,” the Frida company said on its Instagram that they “dove deep into the world of feeding” with research, interviews, and all the craze and curiosity about breast milk. With things like colostrum powder and supplements gaining attention in the wellness industry, people like Instagram user @sahm.things, who said, “I’m INTRIGUED 👀🍦” aren’t the only ones curious about breast milk. Kourtney Kardashian and Ashley Graham have tasted their own, and reality Summer House TV star Paige DeSorbo has even tried her friend’s breast milk. In an interview, DeSorbo said she was “obsessed with it.”

Are There Benefits to Consuming Breast Milk?

According to the CDC, the benefits of consuming breast milk for babies through breastfeeding include that it provides nutritional needs and antibodies for a strong immune system. It also lowers the risk of asthma, obesity, type 1 diabetes, sudden infant death syndrome, and more. If breast milk is beneficial for babies, is it useful for adults?

There isn’t really a concrete answer. Kourtney Kardashian “pounded a glass of breast milk” when she was feeling sick and posted it to her Instagram story. Others, like Instagram user @nevamarie11, commented, “Literally put breastmilk in my coffee while I was sick, worked wonders and tasted amazing.” However, with a lack of evidence-based research, it’s hard to say what the actual benefits are to drinking or consuming breast milk as adults.

However, there are some unexpected uses for breast milk. One study shared public health nurses reported that fresh colostrum can treat “conjunctivitis, chapped nipples, rhinitis, infections of the skin and soft tissues.” Other reports share that topical application of breast milk is an “effective treatment for diaper rash, atopic eczema, diaper dermatitis, and umbilical cord separation.” Which leads to our next question: Is there human breast milk in Frida’s breast milk ice cream?

Is There Human Breast Milk in the Ice Cream?

Instagram user @kelseyxerickson asked, “But what are the sources and ingredients???” We don’t exactly know what is in the breast milk ice cream just yet. If you’re wondering if it actually contains any human breast milk, it doesn’t. Instagram user @mama.truffle pointed out, “Friends, it’s not actual breast milk. It’s gonna be LIKE breast milk.” On the company’s website, there isn’t a lot of information about the actual product. I anticipate it will come out soon. However, Frida did state on its recent Instagram post that its ice cream “fuels your body.” It is “packed with similar nutrients to breast milk and formula, including Omega-3s for brain power, energy-boosting lactose, protein, vitamins, and minerals.”

Final Thoughts on Frida’s Breast Milk Ice Cream

The Frida company is pretty “pumped” about its new product, like @withlovefromkris who stated, “No way wow!! So excited 😍👏🙌.” The question is, are you? If you’re feeling a mom confession coming on, on whether you (or your partner or your friends) have tried your breast milk, we listen, and we don’t judge. I’ve definitely heard of people putting their breast milk in their coffee as creamer. While the concept of breast milk in ice cream is new to me, it isn’t for some. Instagram user @vanesalelexo said, “Ive been making ice cream from my breastmilk for awhile now, its yummy! 🥰” You scream. I scream. We all scream for breast milk ice cream? Time will tell—in nine months, to be exact. Bon appétit!
