On the best of days, I light a candle, grab a book and a glass of wine, and sink into a steaming hot bath after the kids are asleep. But let’s be honest: most days aren’t the best of days. Most days, I sneak away to lock myself in the bathroom for even just two minutes of alone time where I can sit, untouched, for 120 glorious seconds.
Most days, if I want to enjoy a bath, it’s with the company of a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old—either climbing into the tub with me or standing right next to it … you know, to keep me company and what not. That’s why I love finding little ways to treat myself and make my bathroom a place of relaxation.
Let’s face it: spa days are few and far between after having kids, and during a pandemic, they’re non-existent (at least for me). So if you’re anything like me and hanging on to any of the few minutes you get to yourself, we’ve rounded up 11 little luxuries to make your bathroom feel like a spa. Check them out below!
1. Daily Treatment Oil
If I were going to buy only one CBD product, this would be it. This treatment oil does it all thanks to the seven nutrient-rich botanicals it's made with. You can use it on your face and your body to take care of just about anything. Dry skin? Sun damage? Large pores? This oil is for you. Pro tip: use it as a massage oil on sore muscles before going to sleep to feel refreshed in the morning.

2. Barrel-Handled Lacquer Tray
Technically, this is not made to be a bath tray, but that's how I use it. How could I not? It's so elegant and chic. No offense to other bath trays, but this one is so beautiful that it transforms my bath experience and looks great as decor. Plus, it makes a great gift for someone who is hard to buy for. Bath tray, coffee table decor, serving tray—the beauty is in the versatility (and the gorgeous design).
3. Chamomile & Lavender Candle
Nothing, and I mean nothing, transforms a space the way a candle can. If you haven't tried a Pickwick candle, you're truly missing out. I have yet to find a candle that comes close to delivering scents the way Pickwick does. Light a chamomile and lavender candle, and your bathroom will become the most zen room in the house.
4. Masking Set
This super soft headband and rose quartz masking spatula help you apply your favorite masks or serums with even coverage. I know who is getting this in her stocking this year (it's me).
5. Whipped Shea Body Butter
Every single one of our editors who have tried this body butter have raved about it. Do yourself a favor and order it now because you won't regret it. For $6, you'll be much happier with this purchase than whatever specialty coffee you usually get (but don't skip the coffee, us moms need the caffeine). With a light and airy, yet indulgent texture and 10 delicious scents, your skin will thank you for this.
6. Mesh Bath Pillow
If you don't have a bath pillow, you're doing it wrong. This is one of the simplest and best ways to take your bath to the next level of relaxation.
7. Calming Shower Steamers
No bath? No problem. Showers can be an oasis of calm too. These steamers will fill your shower with soothing, all-natural essential oil scents like lemongrass and lavender.
8. Cooling Eye Mask
Whether you suffer from migraines, the occasional hangover, or perpetual dark circles, a gel eye mask stored in the freezer is your answer. Filled with a gel that's soothing on the eye area to help brighten dark circles and relieve head pain, this mask is a must have.
9. Massage Lotion Bar
A lotion massage bar is perfect for relief for both muscles and dry skin skin. Store next to your sink to keep your hands hydrated after washing them, or keep one next to your bed for a little softening massage on any areas of tension. The scent options are almost endless, so find your favorite and enjoy!
10. At-Home Facial Steamer
A facial steamer opens and unclogs pores, removes dirt, oil and makeup, and melts away dead skin. Not to mention, the heated steam feels as relaxing as when you open the dishwasher after it finishes ... but, you know, better because no dishes.
11. Cozy Robe
Is there anything better than an extra plush robe?! Our editors love this cozy Barefoot Dreams option—end your night of relaxation in this for an ultimate at-home luxury moment.
