Is there anything more tempting for little kids than a giant puddle? Whether my kids are in sneakers or sandals, they seem to be able to spot a puddle in a parking lot or on the sidewalk from a mile away. And, à la Peppa Pig, they go splashing and stomping (and smiling) into those muddy puddles.
I’ll admit rainy days are not the days I encourage a lot of outdoor play, because that also means I have to be outside in the rain. But it’s been a very, very long winter and now that the weather is warming up, it’s time to get out of the house. So we’ve gathered up some great rainy-day gear — from classic wellies to patterned raincoats — so your kids can have fun puddle jumping, worm spotting, and outdoor exploring on those drizzly days. Plus we found some cute and classic coverage for you, so everyone can stay at least a little bit dry when those April showers arrive.
