I know I’m not the only child of the ’90s who has a major soft spot for Gap. Even now, a whiff of one of their fragrances transports me right back to a mid-1990s mall. There’s just something about Gap that makes my millennial heart sing. All that to say, my 30-something self nearly screamed out loud for joy when I saw that Gap, the nostalgic brand of my youth, would be teaming up with one of my favorite luxury brands, DÔEN, for a second time!
DÔEN is a popular line of luxury women’s and kids’ clothing (complete with the price tag to back it up). Last year, they teamed up for their first collaboration with Gap. It proved to be so popular that some items sold out within a day. Now, DÔEN is teaming up with Gap for a second collection with a far more palatable price tag. As a huge fan of the original collection, I immediately added the time and date to my Google Calendar. I ordered a few of my favorites on launch day, so scroll on for my honest thoughs on each piece.
What can you expect from the Gap x DÔEN collaboration?
The Gap × DÔEN limited-edition collaboration launched on May 2 at 12pm EST. The collection has 38 pieces of clothing and accessories for both adults and kids. Retailing from $34 to $158, the collection has shared styles that mean parents can match with their little ones. And, for the first time ever for DÔEN, this new collection will feature mens’ styles!
The partnership will combine the classic, cottage-core-inspired designs of DÔEN with the timelessness of Gap, all with more Gap-geared pricing. While the pieces for this collection top out at $158, that’s about half the cost of what you’ll be spending for a similar dress from DÔEN.
Bringing Gap x DÔEN Back for a Second Time
“We were overwhelmed by the excitement and success of our first collection with Gap,” said Margaret Kleveland, cofounder and CEO of DÔEN. “Our second collaboration blends the effortless femininity and timeless style of both brands, while celebrating the incredible community that has shaped DÔEN. The campaign features longtime muses and supporters— women we admire and who have been part of our journey from the beginning. This collection is a tribute to them and to the partnership that brought us here.”
International factories that participate in RISE (Reimagining Industry to Support Equality) also produced this year’s collaboration. Founded in 2023 by Gap Inc. and other organizations, RISE “provides garment workers with the skills needed to advance in work and life.” Through its efforts to bridge the equity gap in the global fashion supply chain, Gap Inc. has reached almost 1.4 million women and girls
“At DÔEN, we were humbled to be selected as a small business partner to join the RISE program, and we’ve launched the initiative within our own supply chain this April,” says Kleveland. “We are especially excited about the factories chosen to manufacture the Gap × DÔEN collection, given the role RISE plays in our overall impact strategy.”

Why This is The Perfect Collaboration for Moms (and Dads!)
DÔEN is a brand near and dear to my heart, as it helped me to regain my personal style postpartum. Its feminine, flowing designs are ideal for every part of motherhood. They work from pregnancy all the way through postpartum and parenting a toddler. And I’m excited that I can now shop items for my husband from the line up as well.
While the brand does not focus specifically on maternity or postpartum, the creators built the line with motherhood at its core. Sisters and founders Katherine and Margaret are both mothers who wanted to create clothing that was a celebration of women. They aimed to create garments that families could pass down from one generation to the next.
The brand’s second collaboration with Gap is an exciting next step in making its beautiful designs accessible to more people. For myself, this will be the first time I’ll be purchasing DÔEN designs for my daughter to wear as well. I could never justify a $200+ dress for my toddler. But at a Gap price, I am excited to finally get to match with her in my favorite clothing. The collection has plenty of styles and prints that come in adult, kid, toddler, and baby sizes. Perfect for a family-matching moment!

The Gap x DÔEN Pieces I Had to Try for Myself
Gingham is a summer classic, so the Linen Gingham Maxi Dress in a blue and white checkered pattern is sure to be a hit for the season. The style is similar to the brand’s Sofia Dress, just about $100 less expensive. The pattern truly never goes out of style, either, so this is a dress that can be worn year after year. The piece is lined with a side zipper, and I’d say it runs just slightly smaller than the similar dress the brand offered last year. I’m six months pregnant and ordered my usual medium, and could probably do with the large!
I’ve been eyeing the brand’s denim Pascual Jacket ever since it debuted, but have been hesitant to spend the small investment on it. However, the new Gap Gingham Denim Jacket and Oversized Icon Denim Jacket offer a similarly styled alternative. The Gingham Denim Jacket is a statement piece that adds a pop of pattern when paired with the brand’s Eyelet Maxi Dresses. I’m usually much more into the basics, but I adore the style of this one! This fits pretty true to size, with sleeves that are more fitted. It’s a great lightweight option for cool summer nights or early fall days.
If I were to guess what one of the best sellers for the collaboration will be, I’d put my money on the Denim Sailor Mini Dress. Similar in style to the brand’s Monroe Dress, the 60s-inspired mini dress comes with a wide square sailor-style collar that gives it a particularly unique silhouette. The denim is heavy-duty, without a ton of stretch. I ordered my usual, non-maternity size, and it’s a bit of a squeeze during pregnancy, but I can’t wait to have this piece in my closet post baby.
An unexpected surprise was the Eyelet Midi Dress, which is available in both black and white. The dress has an allover eyelet detailing, with buttons up the middle and a cinched waist (which, FYI, is NOT stretchy, unfortunately for my pregnant self). The cut and details are super flattering, and while it’s a bit of a tight squeeze at six months pregnant, I’m looking forward to wearing this dress in years to come as a summer staple.
While the Eyelet Dress may be a tight squeeze during pregnancy, I found that the oversized Eyelet Top works perfectly with a pair of maternity jeans. Also available in black and white, the square-neck tank comes with all-over eyelet detailing, with a length that hits right at the hip. I ended up sizing up one size from my regular, non-maternity size, and I think the slightly oversized fit will work fine but during and after pregnancy.
One of DÔEN’s best-selling styles is their Sebastiane Skirt, with a high waist that makes it a versatile, all-season staple. So, it’s hard to pass up a less expensive version from the collaboration with Gap, featuring a black and white gingham pattern with the Gingham Maxi Skirt. It pairs perfectly with the collection’s Gingham Cropped Tank Top (which would work just as well with a pair of high-waist cut offs).
