Earlier this year, Taylor Swift put activewear brand POPFLEX on the map when she was spotted wearing the brand’s (now cult-favorite) Pirouette Skort in a YouTube short. Featuring the skort in her video led to it selling out in a matter of minutes. POPFLEX soon became a household name.
Since then, you’ve likely seen the athleisure brand all over your social media. They sell workout and life-friendly crisscross waistband leggings, flare-leg bottoms, and other cute (but functional) everyday favorites.
The brand was founded by AAPI CEO and lead designer Cassey Ho, who also heads the brand Blogilates. And now, she is bringing Blogilates to Target, with 25 styles of clothing and accessories that are very much inspired by some of the biggest POPFLEX sellers—just at a much lower price point.
Why POPFLEX is Beloved by Moms
While POPFLEX didn’t launch until 2016, the inspiration behind it can be traced back to Cassey’s days as a Pilates teacher. It was then that she noticed she couldn’t find a cute bag for everything she needed to work out. So, she decided to create her own. That same innovation for fun and practical workout gear has gone into the creations of both her brands, POPFLEX and Blogilates.
One look at the POPFLEX Instagram page and you’ll understand why Ho’s designs have become so popular: her reception to feedback. Whether it’s voting on zip-off legs, or hearing what makes the perfect leggings, Ho and the design team are constantly asking for honest feedback on making the best design and products. It’s why so many moms (including myself) love and trust the product. It’s not just done to quickly get new designs out the door. Each piece is intentional and purposefully created to be the best it can be. And it’s for that reason that I’m so excited those designs will now be available under the Blogilates label as well.
Blogilates for Target Launch
Blogilates for Target is now available in all 1,800 Target stores nationwide, as well as online. The new apparel brand was created by Cassey Ho, offering all activewear designs from both labels at more affordable prices. That includes, of course, a new take on the viral Taylor Swift skort (but this one is only $35!). The skort is one of 25 new styles available to purchase in-store or online at Target.
Currently, you can pick up a selection of hoodies, jumpsuits, active dresses, sweatpants, skorts, and sports bras in an array of pastels and neon colors.
My Favorite Blogilates for Target Pieces
As a mom to a toddler, athleisure has become a big part of my daily uniform. Finding activewear that’s comfortable and practical (but still wouldn’t look out of place when going out with my daughter) has become the gold standard. POPFLEX has been one of my favorite picks for those needs. It combines really comfortable fabrics with designs that feel fun and feminine. And because of that, I was thrilled that similar designs are now available for a low price point as part of Blogilates for Target. From what I’ve tried, these have been a few of my favorite pieces so far.
Marshmallow Half Zip Hoodie
Available in black, lime green, and teal blue, this versatile piece pairs perfectly with other items from the brand, ranging from the skort to leggings. The oversized fit feels effortlessly cool and stylish. And the blousey sleeves elevate this from your regular sweatshirt. The style is pretty similar to the POPFLEX Half Zip Warm Up Hoodie. But while that rings in at $75, this Target version is available for $35.

Ruffle Woven Mid-Rise Shorts
These shorts were one of my surprise favorite finds! I’m typically not a huge fan of workout shorts. Despite the built-in inner shorts, I usually find them to fit uncomfortably on my curves. But these shorts are so flattering and perfectly sized.
The mid-rise hits right below my belly button, covering up enough that I don’t feel like a cropped sweatshirt will show off my midriff. The outer ruffle is super flattering. The inner shorts are form fitting without being so tight that they ride up throughout the day.
Ballerina Skort
Inspired by the viral Taylor Swift skort, this ruffle the piece comes with inner shorts, an hourglass waistband, pockets, and a tiered mesh skirt. I was a bit worried it would seem too short. But the length hit at a point that I wouldn’t feel self-conscious wearing it. While I don’t think this will be an everyday wear for me, personally, I do love how cute and girly it feels for working out. I think this will be a huge hit for wearing to the pickleball court or even just a fun everyday skirt.
Campfire Fleece
In the colder weather, this Campfire Fleece is perfect for throwing over leggings and jeans. The neatly designed top comes with cozy fleece, a full zipper, pockets, and a high collar. Similar to the Marshmellow Hoodie, it also comes in a design with drapey, oversized sleeves and a raglan shoulder. This feels like a major step up in aesthetics from the basic North Face fleece of my youth. But, it offers the same versatility.

So, is Blogilates for Target Worth It?
The viral Taylor Swift-worn Pirouette Skort may have made POPFLEX a household name, but it’s the designs of Cassey Ho that have kept (and grown) the brand’s popularity. And through Blogilates at Target, those same innovative designs are now going to be available far more accessibly both through a lower price point and its easy availability at your local Target.
Trying out similar styles to my previous POPFLEX purchases, I found myself really impressed with how the two compared. The quality and overall design are very much from the same world, despite the difference in pricing. That price point is also what will get me to try some of the designs I was tempted by at POPFLEX, but afraid I wouldn’t wear enough. The brand’s Pirouette Dress, for example? I worried how it would work on my curvier body, so never opted to purchase the bestseller. But, for $40, I am much more willing to give the Target version a chance.
