Peppa Pig is getting a new baby sibling this summer—and now we know the little piglet’s sex! On Friday, April 25, Hasbro (the company behind the fan-favorite Peppa Pig franchise) announced the exciting news in an adorable gender reveal video posted on Walmart.com. Later, clips of the big moment were additionally shared on the @officialpeppa Instagram account.
At the start of the three-minute mini Peppa Pig episode, Peppa can be seen chatting with her younger brother, George, as the two each guess if their baby sibling will be a boy or a girl. Then, the duo’s parents, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig, arrive home with a yellow balloon that will reveal the new baby’s sex. “It’s doesn’t matter what the baby is,” Daddy Pig tells the kids before Mummy Pig sweetly adds, “As long as it’s happy and healthy.”
But then, Daddy Pig accidentally lets the balloon go and it floats all the way down the street into the park, attracting the attention of local friends. The group chases the balloon around town until Daddy Pig is finally able to catch it for the big reveal. However, the suspense doesn’t stop there—when the balloon is popped, there’s nothing inside!
Luckily, Mummy Pig’s doctor arrives and explains that she forgot to put the gender reveal envelope inside the balloon. Now we finally learn that Peppa’s new baby sibling is a… GIRL! 💖 “I can’t wait to meet you,” Peppa adorably tells her little sister in her mummy’s belly as the video ends.
Peppa Pig fans learned the happy news that Peppa and George are getting another sibling in late February via an Instagram post announcement. “OH BABY, The secret’s out 🤭 Mummy and Daddy Pig are expecting baby #3… and are about to be outnumbered! 🍼 Newest addition to the family arriving June 2025 🐽 ✨#ExpectingPigChanges,” a post on the @officialpeppa Instagram account shared.
So how exactly will the world meet Baby Pig when she’s born this summer? Parents just exclusively revealed that Peppa’s sibling will make her big debut on May 30, 2025 in a new movie coming to theaters called the Peppa Meets The Baby Cinema Experience. The hour-long film will be released in 2,600 theaters across 14 countries and tickets are already available for purchase online. We can’t wait to find out the baby name Mummy and Daddy Pig choose for their new addition!
