"It’s no secret that the red fashion trend is one of the biggest of the entire year. Trickling down from Fall 2023 runway shows, red pieces have popped up in just about every fall and winter collection from our favorite retailers (is anyone else thinking about the cerulean speech from The Devil Wears Prada right now?).
Though red has never really gone out of style and is always a timeless choice for the holidays, this iteration of the red fashion trend is bigger and better than ever. From chic red sweaters to statement winter accessories to gorgeous ballet flats, there are more red items to choose from than ever before.
While red was previously reserved for holiday parties, Valentine’s Day, or a particularly sexy moment, I now find myself gravitating toward the red option of certain pieces over all of the other colors. One of my absolute favorite ways to wear this hot hue is to start with a pretty neutral foundation—think classic denim and a white cable-knit sweater—and add in a pop of color with a red accessory. This little touch makes any look instantly chic, and for some reason feels very Princess Diana-esque.
We’re obviously going to be wearing as much red as possible throughout the month of December, but I just know that I’ll be pulling out my red pieces well into 2024 as well.
