Out of the three releases, this one immediately won me over—The Game of Life was my favorite board game growing up. The Tonieplay Hasbro Games keep the heart of the original while making it feel relevant for my kids. Instead of spinning the classic wheel, kids use the Tonieplay Controller to move through the game, explore different careers (my son geeked at the Video Game Designer career option), adopt pets, make big life decisions, and more. At the end, they even get a personalized audio highlight reel that recaps their journey.
It captures everything I loved about the original game—the imagination, the storytelling, and the excitement of seeing where life takes you—but packages it in a way that’s perfect for my little ones.

My kids have been obsessed with this one lately. While it’s technically recommended for ages 7 and up, my 6-year-old follows along perfectly fine, and my 4-year-old can jump in with a little help. We recently brought it out during a family game night with their grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the adults to get as invested as they did. Everyone became very competitive, very fast.
The Toniebox 2 also automatically tracks everyone’s money and regularly announces the totals throughout the game. Not only does it reinforce counting and math skills, but it also eliminates what is arguably my least favorite part of traditional Monopoly: managing all the money.
Here’s another fun spin on a beloved classic. In Guess Who? Monster Mysteries, kids team up with Inspector Tips to solve 15 different monster cases. They listen carefully to audio clues, eliminate suspects, and make their final guess using the Tonieplay Controller. The monsters are goofy, the mysteries are engaging, and the gameplay is simple enough that kids quickly figure it out. But what really makes this game stand out in our house is the flexibility. Kids can play head-to-head, work together as a team, or play completely solo.
For those evenings when everyone is tired, dinner dishes are piled in the sink, and you just have absolutely nothing left in the tank in terms of entertainment, this game buys us a little breathing room. The kids feel entertained and independent, and we get 20 minutes to gather ourselves before tackling bedtime.

Even in a screen-riddled world, the magic of an unplugged childhood is still possible. I love watching my kids build forts, invent new games, read books, and find creative ways to keep busy.
