From the day my son CJ turned 5 years old, he proudly announced that he was no longer a baby, but a big kid. Now, while my heart hurt a little at the reality of my first baby growing up, I wanted to commemorate this big leap with more than just a big kid bed.
Between the holiday sweet treats and cold, dry weather, this Anti-Aging & Acne LED Device is our hack for radiant, youthful skin in minutes (who has more time than that anyway?)
Not long after his 5th birthday, my husband and I purchased a new home, meaning he’ll no longer have to share a room with his younger brother. He’ll get the space that he needs and also a little creative freedom to help decorate the room.
And while it made me nervous that my son was gravitating towards bright, loud colors, I’ve since learned kid’s room statement pieces have a lot more to offer than I originally thought. A statement piece is perfect for showing off your child’s personality and can really set the tone of the room. With this in mind, I realized it was important for both of my children to have a statement piece that helps them feel comfortable in their space, showcase their style, and be excited to hang out in their room.
Here are a few of my favorite statement pieces for a big kid’s room—from comfortable seating to colorful accents to customizable pieces special just for them.

Statement Shelving
