I love to read. But after long and hectic days, I find myself only being able to finish a few pages in bed before my eyelids become heavy, I call it a night, and I drift off to sleep. Sure, I’ve slowly finished a few books by reading several pages at a time, but there’s truly nothing like that “can’t put it down” feeling where you just fly through a great book.

So in an effort to read more and finish books at a better pace, I recently tried something I’d never done before: listen to an audiobook. And I’m here to tell you that listening to audiobooks is really great. I was surprisingly captivated by having a narrator read to me, but the real treat of an audiobook is the convenience. And who doesn’t need more of that?

Now, I’m popping in one of my AirPods and listening to an audiobook whenever I get the chance. From a solo grocery shopping trip and driving around in the car to a lunchtime walk and while I get mindless computer work done, I take advantage of as many short spurts of time I have throughout my day to continue listening.

There are many different ways to listen to books, but I’ve been using Barnes & Noble’s newly-launched B&N Audiobooks platform and I highly recommend it. Users can listen anywhere by downloading the B&N NOOK App or via BN.com and instantly have access to more than 300,000 new releases, bestsellers, and more. Subscribers get their first audiobook for free (yes, free!), and after that, users receive one monthly credit to redeem for your next listen (1 credit = 1 book). And if a subscription isn’t for you, users can buy books a la carte at any time and get access to daily savings on thousands of audiobooks.

Ready to get reading with B&N Audiobooks? Click here to view the platform and sign up for your free trial. Then, scroll down to check out a list of 10 audiobooks I recommend—from new releases to bestsellers, these titles would make a perfect first audiobook listen.
