As a first-time mom, I figured it was best to cover my bases and buy a variety of different types of toys for my soon-to-be-born baby boy. I painstakingly researched the best items to encourage his developmental milestones and excitedly added the sweetest stuffed animals to my registry. When my now 3 year old was born, it became clear rather quickly that he had a really strong affinity for things that go.
