Forgive me in advance because I’m about to be vain for approximately 200 words. The result of pregnancy is undeniably great (a baby, yay!). But it also involves putting a lot of your life on hold for nine or ten months. You have to avoid certain foods, alcohol, Retinol, roller coasters, cold medicine (the most dire, to be completely frank), etc. While some of them may be luxuries, it’s not particularly fun to be barred from certain things for an extended amount of time.
For me, one of the things that I always cringe about having to halt (and yes, this is where I get vain) is Botox. As someone in my 30s, it’s become a part of my routine that I genuinely enjoy. It helps with small wrinkles or chin dimples every several months. Is it a necessity? Of course not. But, when you’re dealing with some of the exterior side effects of pregnancy like melasma, acne, and dull skin, it can definitely make you feel a bit down to not be able to use products that are actually effective.
That’s when I was recommended a serum: the Emma Lewisham Supernatural Vitale Elixir. I know it sounds like a witchy potion. But the serum makes some major promises for wrinkle reduction and prevention as a topical alternative to injections. And while I have enough skincare knowledge to know that no topical product will emulate the effects of Botox, I was intrigued to give it a try to see what it could do.
What is the Emma Lewisham Supernatural Vitale Elixir?
Emma Lewisham is the founder and owner of Emma Lewisham skincare, which touts itself as “science based, natural skincare.” Lewisham launched the brand in 2019 after years of formulating. With innovative formulas sold in refillable packaging, the brand is the world’s first certified Climate Positive and 100 percent circular skincare brand.
The Supernatural Vitale Elixir debuted a few years after the brand first came to market, marketing itself as a “first of its kind” skincare product. The elixir is a “cosmeceutical-grade facial muscle relaxant” and promotes itself as a topical alternative to Botox injections. The ingredients are said to reduce the frequency of muscle contractions that contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. In a 2024 study, it was found that 96 percent of those who used it found there was relaxation of muscles after 48 hours, or 91 percent after 24 hours.

Emma Lewisham Supernatural Vitale Elixir Ingredients
A few of the key ingredients of the Emma Lewisham Supernatural Vitale Elixir include the following:
- Neuropeptie Relaxant Complex: The brand’s proprietary complex with Acetyl hexapeptide-8, Leucojum aestivum bulb extract, and Acmella oleracea extract, which help to reduce the frequency of muscle contractions responsible for fine lines and wrinkles.
- Saccharide Isomerate and Acetylated Hyalurionic Acid: Together, they deliver hydration for plumping and smoothing.
- Peptides: Two-part peptide system that works to support collagen and elastin production.
Additionally, you’ll find the following ingredients: Aloe barbadensis leaf extract, Water / aqua / eau, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Glycerin, Propanediol, Coco-caprylate, Saccharide isomerate, Glyceryl stearate citrate, Cetearyl alcohol, Shea butter ethyl esters, Benzyl alcohol, Parfum (fragrance), Tocopherol, Tocopheryl acetate, Acmella oleracea extract, Colloidal gold, Glyceryl caprylate, Lecithin, Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, Acetyl hexapeptide-8, Sodium acetylated hyaluronate, Acanthopanax senticosus (Eleuthero) root extract, Leucojum aestivum bulb extract, Pullulan, Hydrolyzed pinus sibirica seedcake extract, Sodium benzoate, Pentylene glycol, Citric acid, Caprylyl glycol, 1,2- Hexanediol, Sodium hydroxide, Mica, Dehydroacetic acid, Tin oxide, CI 77492 (Iron oxides), CI 77891 (Titanium dioxide), Silica, Xanthan gum, Sclerotium gum, Menthane carboxamide ethylpyridine, Menthyl PCA, Lactamide MEA, Sodium citrate, Alpha-isomethyl ionone, Coumarin, Limonene, Linalool
How to use the serum
It’s recommended that you use one or two pumps of the Supernatural Vitale Elixir on your face, neck, and décolletage. Do this in the morning and evening before your eye cream or any other serums. I allow it to dry down a bit before going in with the brand’s Supernatural Face Oil (which, thankfully, you can buy a refill for when you run out).

Honest Review: My Experience with the Emma Lewisham Supernatural Vitale Elixir
As I said before, I have now tried enough skincare products to know full well there is no magical serum or potion that will give you the full effects of an injectable. It simply wouldn’t be possible for a topical treatment to get to the same points of muscle as an injected needle.
However, with Botox not an option, I was excited to try the Emma Lewisham Supernatural Vitale Elixir to see how close it could get me to those results.
This pregnancy has brought me some of my most troublesome skin since… well, ever. Hormonal acne, dark spots, and laxity have all been issues that I attribute to the massive change in hormones. And without Retinol or prescription-strength skincare at my disposal, my usual helpers have been off the table.
I started by using a pea-sized amount of the product both morning and night. The first things I noticed were a subtle, spa-like smell and a light formula. It left my skin feeling hydrated but never heavy or greasy. The immediate effect is skin that looks slightly plumper and luminous. I certainly didn’t watch my wrinkles disappear in front of my eyes Death Becomes Her-style. But it did bring a little more life to my dull skin pretty much immediately.

The Results
The real results didn’t start to show for me for a few weeks. After pretty consistent use over the course of a month or two, I definitely noticed a change in my skin. My skin now seems smoother and more glowing. I first noticed this subtle change when I realized my makeup was sitting quite a bit better and more naturally than earlier on in my pregnancy. The combination of the Supernatural Vitale Elixir along with the Supernatural Face Oil hasn’t been a miracle solution to my hormonal skin. But they’ve made by far the biggest difference compared to any other products I’ve tried during pregnancy.
As for those Botox effects, I wouldn’t say this is a product that’s going to replace injectables for me post-pregnancy. But have I seen my skin looking a bit smoother and more even? Absolutely. I think if you’re someone who would rather not try injectables, this could be a perfect first step into helping smooth subtle fine lines or achieve as many results as a topical can provide. I know for me, this is a product I plan to use far beyond pregnancy for its glowing results.
