I’ll be honest, playing board games with my kids is not really my idea of a good time. It’s one of those parenting things I put on a brave face for, suck it up, and get over it. This is largely because many games made for kids are well … pretty lame. And when you’re playing with young kids, older kids, and adults, it’s nearly impossible to try to find something that works for everyone.
Well, much to my chagrin, my kids love board games. And with all of the time we’ve been spending at home lately, we have been playing a lot more of them—at least three times a day if not more. We’ve gone through our game stack way more times than I can count, and I even ordered a few more recently in an attempt to shake things up.
The kids have their favorites (please, no more Monopoly Jr.) and the adults have theirs, but for the most part, pulling out one of these 11 options is sure to be enjoyable for everyone involved. That is, until someone throws a tantrum because they don’t win (hint: it’s rarely one of the grown-ups).
