Our Favorite Clean Brands for Prepared Baby Food

I often joke with my mom that I would be shunned if I fed my son the things she fed me when we were young. Looking back at the accepted food pyramid from my childhood and things that were considered “healthy” always makes me cringe a bit.

Now, before I go on, I want to make one thing clear – I am not very type-A about most things as a mom. My kid will eat cake and have McDonald’s and pizza on occasion, and if we’re laying it all on the table, my household cleaners and beauty products are nowhere near clean (gasp!). That being said, the kind of food my son eats on a daily basis is important to me.

I know that his diet will never be 100 percent clean, and I want him to be able to fully enjoy life.  So, I treat his diet in the same way I treat my own – when I do have control over the ingredients in the food he eats, I try to make sure they’re clean and nutritious. I have PCOS myself and eating mostly organic food helps to keep my symptoms at bay, which makes me think that chemicals in our food can have negative effects on our bodies.

I know that the easiest way to keep my son’s diet clean would probably be making his food myself, but I’m a working mom, and I don’t always have time to cook and blend baby food at this stage of my life. The great part about living in 2019 (who knew there was one?!) is that there are a plethora of options when it comes to clean pre-packaged baby food. The downside is that sometimes you don’t know where to start when you have so many options.

Here is a list of baby food brands that are known to be clean and pride themselves on using the best ingredients to nourish your babe.
