Parents of kids with food allergies are already diligently checking food labels. But families with dairy allergies and sensitivities will want to recheck their kitchen pantry for the most recent kid-favorite food recall. On January 14, 2025, the Quaker Oats Company issued a limited recall of their Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle mix that may contain undeclared milk.

While not as widespread as the recall of frozen waffles a few months ago, people with dairy allergies or sensitivities to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product. To date, no allergic reactions have been reported. Here’s what to know about the most recent food recall.

Which Pancake Mix Has Been Recalled?

According to the FDA’s recall alert, the Quaker Oats Company issued a limited recall number of their two pound boxes of Pearl Milling Company (the brand formerly known as Aunt Jemima) Original Pancake & Waffle Mix. The company reported that they were alerted about the allergen concern from a retail partner. Photo and details of the recalled product are below:

  • Two pound boxes of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix that could have been purchased as early as November 18, 2024.
  • UPC: 30000 65040
  • Code and Manufacturing Date: BBD SEP 13 25 P (found on top of the box)
  • The recall includes products in 11 states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah, and Wisconsin.
  • No other Quaker products are part of this recall.
