Mongolian Cashmere Oversized Boyfriend Cardigan
This slouchy cardigan is undoubtedly inspired by Jenny Kayne’s Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan—borrowing heavily from its oversized, lightweight silhouette, for a fraction of the cost.
My friend owns the Cocoon cardigan, and while it’s a staple for a reason—unmatched finishing touches and heavier density that resists stretching, truly an heirloom closet staple—at a quick glance I don’t think you can tell the difference. The Quince cashmere version is super soft, lightweight and comes in really beautiful, neutral colors emulating the quiet luxury aesthetic.
I would order your usual size, since the cardigan is already oversized. There is also a cropped version.
Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Crewneck Sweater
To be completely transparent, I ordered this sweater just for the round-up. While it’s a classic staple (Jenny Kayne has a flawless version, and Everlane has a wool cashmere one ), I didn’t expect to like this style on myself. Typically, boxy short sweaters are not my favorite shape. However, the Quince version took me by surprise. Very soft, thick, and warm with just the right amount of cozy.
I styled it with a white tee, and it really helped elevate and add interest to the crewneck. Also, I sized up to a medium for a more flowy, comfortable everyday wear. I immediately thought about adding another color.
Mongolian Cashmere Structured Cardigan
This is the piece I was most excited to try on. A structured cardigan is all the rage this season, and this silhouette is so effortlessly chic. Perfect for work, Zoom calls, or going out. It’s such a sophisticated take on a classic cardi—absolutely here for it.
Again, inspired by Jenni Kayne’s Cooper Cardigan, I think it comes close, but it’s not as finely tailored. Though the cardigan is heavy and well-structured, it’s still soft. I do think I should have sized down for a more tailored fit. But I love how different this cashmere sweater is from all the classics. Does it look as polished as I thought? Not quite—but for the price, it’s worth it.
Mongolian Cashmere Crewneck
This sweater was one of my first Quince cashmere purchases a few years ago. And I still reach for this sweater all the time. It’s soft, comfortable and a great staple in my closet.
I liked it so much that I ordered another version. The v-neck Cashmere sweater. I pair these sweaters with everything from a satin skirt to pull-on pants. I’ve worn them to holiday dinners and the airport. Versatile, lightweight, and while they’re definitely prone to pilling—most cashmere items are—they have been a great buy over the years. They’re not a forever piece, but for the price, I feel a replacement after a few years is warranted.
How to Care for Your Cashmere Sweaters and Keep Them Looking New
Investing in cashmere — whether it’s a luxury piece or an affordable favorite like Quince’s Mongolian cashmere still means knowing how to care for it. Cashmere is delicate by nature, and proper care goes a long way in preventing issues like pilling, stretching, and color fading. I’m guilty of not hand-washing my cashmere, but I do wash it in cold water and lay my sweaters flat to dry.
But, even if you spend a small fortune on luxury cashmere, you will have to deal with some pilling. One of the best purchases I’ve made has been this rechargeable electric fabric shaver. A gentle run through the fabric helps remove that pesky fuzz and makes all my cashmere look brand new again. If you’re investing in a cashmere sweater, this tool is a must-buy.
