No matter how often we clean our house, we blink, and another mess conjures out of thin air. Sometimes, the culprits are the kids with their fallen snack crumbs, the new puppy and his muddy paws, the cat and her litter residue, my husband and his beard hair trimmings, or me with my coffee ground spillings. We’re all at fault, and it’s never-ending. I’ve been on a quest to find a cleaning tool that can tackle all our messes more efficiently. Especially now that summer is starting and our backyard time has increased, which means the volume of dirt in our kitchen has, too. However, with four little humans/creatures to care for, I didn’t want something that required time-consuming maintenance.
We got the Tineco iFloor 3 Ultra Floor Washer from Costco a few weeks ago to see if it met my list of requirements—here’s my Tineco iFloor 3 Ultra review:
An overview of the Tineco iFloor 3 Ultra
Tineco has a range of floor washers, otherwise known as wet-dry vacuums, but what’s unique about the iFloor 3 Ultra is its powerful suction that claims to clean even the stickiest of messes (we definitely put this to the test) with minimal effort due to its lightweight frame and powerful suction. It works on sealed hard floors like hardwood, vinyl, laminate, linoleum, tile, and marble—perfect for homes with multiple types of flooring like ours. Instead of using an entire starting lineup of cleaning products to clean my floors, the iFloor 3 Ultra floor washer promised to take care of messes in half the time.
On sale for $199 (regularly $249.99) at Costco from May 5 to May 11!
First, setting it up
It took about 10 minutes to put together and set up on its charging stand. The instruction manual recommended allowing it a full five hours for the first charge before using it. The digital screen shows how charged the vacuum is, so once the bars were complete, I filled the clean water tank with water and a couple of caps of the Tineco cleaning solution, and we were good to go. I’ve been using it multiple times a day for several weeks and have been pleasantly surprised with every aspect of this mop-vacuum hybrid.
My favorite features of the Tineco iFloor 3 Ultra
It mops and vacuums simultaneously
We’ve got an assortment of messes in our house, which all require a variety of cleaning methods. But now, instead of using the broom for snack crumbs, the mop for juice spills, and a mountain of paper towels for potty training accidents (dog and toddler alike), the iFloor 3 Ultra cleans it all. The roller brush scrubs my floors while the vacuum suctions, so my hard floors are left washed, dry, and without streaks. I’ve tried it on mud, oatmeal, rice, eggs, countless liquids, and yes, even toy slime—the bane of every parent’s existence.
Doesn’t matter how sticky or clumpy the substance is, the iFloor 3 Ultra grabs it all. Plus, the two-tank design keeps clean water and solution separate from dirty water, so I’m always cleaning the floor with fresh water. It’s been quite humbling to see how dirty our floors actually were before having this vacuum.
It’s conveniently cordless and easy to maneuver
We have hard floors in every room downstairs and in our bathrooms upstairs, and being 5’0, I need a cleaning tool that doesn’t make me topple over while I carry it up the stairs. The Tineco iFloor 3 Ultra is super lightweight and allows up to 25 minutes of non-stop, deep cleaning, so I can easily clean up any bathroom messes on the second floor.
It features hands-free self-cleaning
Truthfully, I hate using appliances that require too much upkeep. I don’t even use my dishwasher cause I don’t want to keep up with filters and all that, though that judgment may stem from being raised in a traditional Hispanic household. But the iFloor 3 Ultra’s self-cleaning system is simple, intuitive, and, most importantly, keeps my hands clean. At the click of a button, the machine uses water from the clean water tank to spin and rinse the roller brush, then transfers any dirt residue to the dirty water tank for easy disposal. The digital screen alerts me when it requires a self-clean, but I typically run it after every use, regardless. The screen also alerts me if the brush roller is tangled and when the dirty water tank is full or blocked with debris.
This Tineco floor washer also includes three roller brushes, two HEPA filters, two cleaning solutions, and a cleaning brush. Even after countless uses, I still haven’t needed to do any deep scrubbing of the roller brush or the dirty water tank. As long as I run a self-clean and rinse the tank after each use, I avoid buildup or gross smells.
It uses a 4-stage HEPA filter
As I’ve mentioned, there are two pets in the house—a rapidly growing black lab mix puppy and a very fluffy black cat (we love ourselves a color scheme). As much as my son and I love our pets, we both struggle with pet allergies, so having a vacuum with HEPA filtration is a must. The iFloor 3 Ultra grabs pet hair effortlessly, and thanks to the HEPA filter’s ability to remove pollen and dust, there’s noticeably less sneezing in our home.
My final verdict on the Tineco iFloor 3 Ultra
I have zero complaints about this floor washer. It delivered on every single one of its promises, a rarity with so many other household appliances. There is no shortage of messes in our household, but instead of stressing out over dirty floors, I know the Tineco iFloor 3 Ultra can handle whatever we throw its way.
Tineco’s iFloor 3 Ultra is on sale for $199 (regularly $249.99) at Costco from May 5 to May 11. So basically, you can write it off as a Mother’s Day present to yourself because, let’s be honest, you’ll get way more use out of this multi-functional cleaning tool than another “Mama” mug.
