Before you head to the store to stock up on ice cream tubs for your kids’ end of school year party, kids’ sporting event, or family’s Memorial Day weekend plans, you’ll want to check out the latest ice cream recall information from distributor Wells Enterprises.

In April, the company issued a voluntary recall of over 17,000 tubs of ice cream due to potential plastic contamination, according to a recently released report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA classified the ice cream recall as a Class II, meaning, “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.” The report did not indicate whether there have been any consumer complaints or effects from the plastic contamination at this time. Here’s what else to know about the latest ice cream recall.

Which brands are part of the ice cream recall?

The nationwide recall from ice cream manufacturer Wells Enterprises, Inc. includes 17,000+ tubs and 22 flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt sent to 103 distribution centers across the United States, including Le Mars, Iowa; Wyoming, Michigan; Rosemont, Illinois; Houston, Texas; and Fort Worth, Texas. The recall includes three gallon tubs, only. The affected products feature “Best If Used By” dates ranging from March to October 2026.

Full list of ice cream products voluntarily recalled

Wells Enterprises manufacturers ice cream brands like Blue Bunny and Halo Top, among others. However, the FDA report didn’t list individual brand names on many of the recalled products, so it’s best to check your three gallon ice cream tub if you have a flavor on the list.

Individual ice cream product information is listed below. All products are three gallon tubs only:
