Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen captivated the world with Artemis II, the first lunar mission since 1972. It’s undeniable that these four (and the rest of NASA) have inspired the world. They shared their love for space, Earth, and humanity over the course of their 10-day space mission on the Orion spacecraft. Their words of wisdom and reflections on their experience in space—and around the moon—were poetic, too. I know I’m not the only one who cried after the crew announced they wanted to name a crater on the moon “Carroll” after Reid Wiseman’s late wife. Now that the 2026 mission is over, I’m turning to books about space and rewatching the live footage on Netflix to continue the ‘moon joy.’

As a mom, it’s been a thrill to witness history and see my own kids experience these historic moments. I followed the Artemis II mission from liftoff to landing. And I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t bummed that it’s over. I’m recovering from the Artemis II space mission blues. Yes, I acknowledge that I’m *slightly* obsessed. If you’re like me and can’t stop thinking about the Artemis II mission, from biographies about real-life astronauts to romance novels about space exploration, I’m sharing 16 books to read to get over your Artemis II sorrows.
