One of my top 10 and most used baby items right now is our high chair. My 11-month old son loves the social interaction with the whole family seated at the table. Family dinners usually end with him fully covered head-to-toe with what was originally on his plate. And, while sitting at the table is an everyday occasion, for babies, it also comes with safety considerations.

Safety tips and guidelines for baby high chairs
High chairs do provide convenience when feeding your baby. Their benefits include comfort, promoting social interactions at the table, and more. However, it’s important to take note of how to sit your child in their high chair safely. Here are some safety tips to consider:

- During each use, ensure the high chair is stable and does not easily tip over.
- For folding high chairs, make sure the lock system is secure at set up.
- Use all safety straps and follow directions included on how to use the product.
- Provide a clear space, and do not place the high chair next to a counter or table, which can lead to a child pushing against these surfaces and may cause the high chair to fall over.
- Do not leave a child unattended in a high chair.
- It is not advised to use a hook-on high chair as a main high chair for babies.
