I know I’m not alone in counting Taylor Swift as one of my main style icons. Throughout her changing styles and many eras, I’ve followed along and swooned over her mix of both designer and more accessible clothing. And as a badge-carrying Swiftie, I’ll admit that 30-plus-year-old me shrieked with delight when I found out we share a love for one brand in particular.

Throughout the years, Taylor Swift has been pictured wearing numerous pieces from the California-based clothing brand Christy Dawn, sporting styles like the Fitzgerald dress in the Style music video or Dawn Dress in an Instagram post. With multiple appearances at candid events, it was clear she and I have a love for this brand in common. And it’s a brand that my fellow moms need to know about as well. Keep reading for a full review of the Christy Dawn clothing brand.
What is Christy Dawn?
Christy Dawn is a fashion brand that was first started by a designer of the same name. The brand got its start by making clothing using deadstock fabric, with a limited number of each style sewn at a time. Since then, the brand has grown but still keeps an eco-conscious ethos at its core.
The brand continues to make vintage-inspired silhouettes, with many pieces now created using cotton from the brand’s own regenerative cotton farm in India. Additionally, deadstock fabric pieces are still created, using fabric that has been left over from the fashion industry. Pieces are crafted in California as well as in India through the regenerative farm.
While there are unique pieces and styles debuted each season, there’s a core collection of dresses made by Christy Dawn that can be found in new colors and prints again and again. That means if you find a silhouette you really love, you’ll likely be able to pick it up in multiple options.
Christy Dawn Regenerates: Buy and Sell Pre-Loved Clothing
Just like with another one of my favorite brands, DÔEN, Christy Dawn offers a platform to buy and sell gently used clothing from the brand as a way to give it a new life. Through Christy Dawn Regenerates, you can list Christy Dawn pieces to be sold on the brand’s platform.
Once sold, you have the choice to get 100 percent of the amount in store credit or 70 percent of the amount if you choose cash. The resell price is set by the brand (typically at 50 percent of the original price), and you’re provided with a shipping label once the item has sold.
Alternatively, you can purchase off of the platform, picking up past season’s styles for a fraction of the price you would’ve paid originally.
Christy Dawn Clothing Review and Try-On
Christy Dawn clothing isn’t cheap—it may not be at the designer pricing level, but it’s firmly in the investment piece category. The reason I’ve become somewhat enamored with the brand is that these are pieces that are truly built to last. Each design is feminine and functional, taking me through everything from maternity to breastfeeding and postpartum. While the brand is designed for everyone, I’ve found the styles to be particularly comfortable and well-designed throughout motherhood.
The Dawn Dress
The original dress from the brand, this simple style is one that Taylor Swift famously has been spotted wearing. The brand has released the style in new prints again and again, but my favorite continues to be the simple Sea Spray that Swift was pictured wearing. I personally love wearing the dress paired with simple white sneakers or sandals, but it can also be dressed up for early fall days with a leather jacket and some short boots.
The Emma Dress
For many Christy Dawn fans, this is the dress from the brand. From the lace detailing to the sweetheart neckline, the Emma Dress is super feminine and pretty but also easy to throw on and wear. With an elastic bodice, it fits comfortably and makes you look instantly put together. During the colder months, I love to wear this with a tied-up denim shirt or crop shirt to show off the gorgeous skirt.
The Brynne Dress
The Brynne Dress comes with elasticized seam detailing and a crocheted lace edge that feels super feminine and pretty. And it’s all packaged into an incredibly comfortable piece of clothing. While the dress was first released as part of the spring collection, this is one I plan to pair with a jacket or sweater quite a bit during the fall.
The Christy Dress
A newer style from the brand, this house dress style is pretty much as comfortable as pajamas. With an elasticized neckline, you can wear it on or off the shoulder. Plus, you can wear it with or without a belt for endless versatility.
The Kelly Dress
I am a massive fan of lace detailing and cap sleeves, so this dress is a win for me. The Kelly has a scooped front and back neckline, finished off by small cap sleeves and delicate detailing. I personally sized up in this one and found the additional room to be incredibly comfortable.
