Expertise

Kathy is passionately committed to sharing the honest and complex stories of motherhood, as she navigates her own everyday adventures of work, marriage, and parenting.

Experience

Kathy’s writing career began in second grade when she (self) published the short story, My Brother the Brat. Later, in high school, Kathy’s English teacher encouraged her to do something with her writing, but it took nearly two decades for her to listen. Instead, she worked for advertising agencies in Detroit and Chicago, before pivoting her career from marketing to editorial. With articles now published across popular parenting sites—including hundreds of stories on The Everymom—Kathy became Assistant Managing Editor in 2020.

Kathy holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from Marquette University.

Fun Stuff

When not working or parenting, Kathy would love to be reading on a beach chair, exploring an antique store, or grabbing drinks with her girlfriends. She’s forever updating her 100-year-old house and always planning her next trip to Disney World.
