The jeans are designed to look like real, polished denim from a distance, but are made from 100% cotton terry, giving you the all-day comfort of sweatpants. The sweatpants jeans come in a variety of styles and colors. Below are my thoughts about each style I tried and which pair I kept.

Yep. The material is soft cotton terry, not denim, while a high-definition digital print mimics stitching, rivets, and even faux fly and back pockets. Making these terry cloth pants appear as jeans, very convincingly. In fact, this design illusion is so deceptive that I dropped my phone several times, trying to stick it into my non-existent back pocket out of habit while wearing them.

The viral Miramar Sweatpants Jeans by Rag & Bone, has essentially redefined what denim can look and feel like. Miramar isn’t a denim blend or a stretch jean alternative; it’s a completely revolutionary concept that masters the tailoring of denim, with hyper-realistic print that mirrors jean detail on soft terry fabric.
Does this concept justify the price? Here is my review of the Miramar style pants I tried at Rag & Bone.
The Miramar Wide-Leg Pants review
When I first pulled these on, I genuinely had to do a double-take in the mirror. They look like perfectly broken-in, wide-leg denim. On the inside, they feel like ultra-soft sweatpants, but the outside is digitally printed to mimic classic denim details. They have a pull-on elastic waistband, which makes them incredibly easy and comfortable, especially for long days, and the mid-rise fit feels relaxed without looking sloppy. I love that they also have functional side seam pockets, so they’re practical too. If you want the polished look of wide-leg jeans but secretly wish you were wearing sweats, these absolutely deliver.
I sized up in these to have a little more comfort, especially since the side pockets can sometimes add unnecessary bulk to the hip area, if the pants are too tight. I’m also 5’2″, and these jeans don’t come in petite sizing, so I would need to get them hemmed. If you’re in between sizes, I would go up, but I did find they are true to size and come in three color varieties.
Miramar Sofie Ankle-Length Pants review
Next, tried the Miramar Sofie Ankle-Length Pants and was honestly blown away by how much they look like real denim. They actually have a real zipper and button, and the denim print is so convincing that I repeatedly forgot I wasn’t wearing actual jeans. These are soft, stretchy, and comfortable like sweatpants.
Note: while these are ankle-length, I am 5’2 “, so on me they are actually the perfect length. If you’re on the shorter side.
I reached for these constantly because they effortlessly made me look put-together while also keeping me completely comfortable. There is no need to pull these off as soon as you get home, like most jeans I own. They are pricey—but if you do the math on the price-per-wear and think about how long we keep jeans in our closet that we never reach for, they just might be worth the big price tag. (Is this #girlmath, maybe?)
After a few wears (literally non-stop since their arrival), I did notice they relax and stretch out a bit, especially through the waist and hips, so I’d recommend ordering your usual size or even going down one if you’re between sizes. Because these are terry cloth, they do stretch out over time. The good news: they wash really well and hold their print and softness beautifully.

Budget-friendly sweatpant jeans
As a more budget-friendly alternative, I tried the Gap Heavyweight Easy Baggy Sweatpant Jeans. At a fraction of the price, these give you the same cozy, soft French terry feel with jean-inspired details like belt loops, a faux fly, and classic five-pocket styling, but unlike the Rag & Bone version, they won’t fool anyone into thinking you’re wearing jeans. They’re definitely more relaxed and baggy, leaning more into the sweatpant territory.
Personally, I find the black wash a little more forgiving, while the Soft Cornflower Blue version in person doesn’t look like jeans, close up or from afar. However, if you’re looking for that sweatpant-jeans hybrid but don’t want to splurge, these are a solid, wearable alternative. I do recommend sizing down. I found my typical size to be too big to even snap a photo.
