If you’re not familiar, trunk-or-treat is similar to trick-or-treating, except that it involves grabbing candy out the trunk of cars. It was made even more popular during the pandemic years, and people will usually come together in a public place like a school parking lot and decorate the trunks of their vehicles in a Halloween theme. Kids are then able to stop by each vehicle and grab a handful of candy for their bags.
For the most part, trunk or treat is hosted by daycares, schools, churches, or local businesses so you don’t have to worry about organizing your own event. The only thing you’ll have to do is sign up as a participant if you plan to decorate your trunk. Then the fun part is choosing a theme and DIY’ing your idea—or buying a handy pre-made trunk or treat kit.
