I have a confession. Before the movie adaptation of Wicked came out in theaters last November, I had never seen the musical. And, *gasp* I had no background knowledge of what the storyline even was. I personally acknowledge that saying that sentence out loud may low-key be a theatrical crime. But I have to add, seeing it for the first time was life-changing.
