There’s something about a new season that makes me want to totally reinvent myself and my interests. When summer finally comes, I become super outdoorsy, hit the beach, and soak in all the sunny rays that the long, hazy days offer. But let’s be real: I’m an indoor kid at heart. This is why the shift into fall is truly my favorite time of year. It gives me all the cozy vibes, autumnal recipes, and time spent curled up at home on my couch with a pumpkin candle burning.
Unfortunately, this “new season, new me” mindset can also wreak havoc on my wallet. I tend to want to buy a whole new wardrobe, adopt all the fall-themed hobbies, and jazz up my self-care routine. Though I can’t do all those thingsâyour girl is on a budget, after allâI allow myself a few special, treat-myself items with each new season. What’s life if we can’t celebrate the small things, right?
If you’re also looking for some items to spark a little joy this fall, I asked The Everymom editors to share what they’re adding to their cart. From a luxurious body butter and a newly-released cookbook to a comfy sweater and the latest *it* belt bag, scroll down to check out our team’s fall favorites.
Thereâs nothing I love more than relaxing in the bath with a good book on a crisp fall night. The newest addition to my bath routine is applying this organic body butter (made with shea butter, mango butter, and organic coconut oil) when I get out of the tub because it keeps my skin moisturized and silky smooth all season long. Though the product was originally created for littles with sensitive skin, itâs great for adults, too! â Julia Birkinbine Poulter, Managing Editor
CoHo fansâlike myselfâhave been excitedly awaiting her latest novel that will delve deeper into fan-favorite character Atlas's backstory from her wildly-popular novel It Ends With Us. Instead of a "beach read," this book seems perfect for cozy fall, blanket-covered couch reading. â Kathy Sisson, Editor
Fall just isnât fall until you have the perfect sweater to cozy up in. They donât call it sweater weather season for nothing, and this affordable quarter zip pullover from Target will have you dreaming of cinnamon chai lattes and pumpkin patches â Steph Alleva Cornell, Branded Content Editor
Iâve been on the hunt for âniceâ leggings that donât look like athletic wearâI want ones I can pair with a sweater and chunky boots. I love my Spanx faux leather leggings, so I have my eye on these seamless, high-waisted leggings from Spanx. â Kathy Sisson, Editor
As soon as a singular leaf hit the ground this season, I immediately started thinking about all of the cozy things I want to add to my wardrobe for fall and winter. Iâve wanted a giant, chunky, colorful scarf for a couple of years now, but I just canât stomach the price of some of the high-end options. When I stumbled upon this under-$35 Etsy option, it immediately went into my cart. â Jessica Welsh, Associate Commerce Editor
My fall must-have is the Capri Blue Pumpkin Clove candle from Anthro. I light it every day from September 1st until I switch to a holiday scent after Halloween. It makes my home smell amazing and is my favorite way to usher in the season. â Jessica Jones, Social Media Editor
We are huge fans of Siete products in my house, so Iâm excited for their cookbook to come out this fall! I need to get re-inspired in the kitchen, and I think this will do the trick with some new, cozy stay-at-home recipes. â Amanda Shapin Michelson, Senior Manager of Brand Partnerships
Do I need another belt bag? No. Did I buy this anyway due to its cozy fall vibes? You betâand I have no regrets. I wear my black Lululemon Belt Bag almost daily and audibly gasped when I saw this sherpa one, so I know this latest versionâwhich comes in three chic colorsâwill get a lot of wear during the colder months. â Julia Birkinbine Poulter, Managing Editor
Once fall hits, I find myself opting for more elevated jewelry pieces that will blend more seamlessly with my fall wardrobe. Gone are the funky colorful statement jewelry pieces, and in come the staple gold pieces that I can wear throughout the season. I love how these gold hoops are so simple and elegant, yet the cherubs add a unique feature to them that make them so eye-catching. â Hannah Nguyen, Junior Email Editor
It wasnât until my late 20s that I realized so many of my skin woes were simply due to dry skin. I use this moisturizer all over (especially when the cool, dry air comes back) and re-stock as soon as Iâm emptyâitâs really that good! â Anna Wissler, Graphic Designer
