Love it or not (how could you not?!), spooky season is here. My obsession for Halloween runs deep, and thatâs no secret. However, it went to another level when my kids were born. And reading Halloween books together helps us get even more into the spooky spirit.
Youâd be hard-pressed to find anything more charming than a young kidâs ability to believe in magic and mystery. For me, thatâs absolutely the best thing about celebrating holidays with kids. Though we dive deep into most holidays in our home, Halloween takes the cake. For us, the benefit of this is that my 7-year-old and 4-year-old donât find anything about Halloween scary. Itâs all exciting and fun for them.
I definitely did not intend for them to be enchanted by things like skeletons, ghosts, dark nights, and mystery, but Iâll go ahead and count it as a win. (There are so few of those wins as a parent, right?) And since one of our favorite parts of spooky season is reading Halloween-themed childrenâs books together, weâve rounded up more than 30 titles we love and recommend below.
