Short, punchy monikers definitely have an appeal for parents looking for memorable names for their baby. And one-syllable baby boy names fit the bill, especially if a new little guy will have a long, multi-syllable last name. Additionally, many parents prefer a one-syllable middle name for boys as a short and sweet bridge between their first and last name.

Plenty of one-syllable names for boys also follow recent naming trends—from choosing a surname baby name like “Banks” or “Hayes” to a nickname baby name like “Max” or “Ray.” Here, I’ve gone through the list of the 1000 most popular baby names from last year, according to the U.S. Social Security Administration’s (SSA) list, and found the best one-syllable names for boys. Plus, I gathered a few rare one-syllable names not on the list. Keep scrolling for 125 one-syllable baby boy names to consider for a new little guy.

Many parents prefer to choose a well-known and easy-to-pronounce name for their children. And all of these one-syllable names fell within the top 100 boys names last year, according to the SSA.
