During my first pregnancy, I loved the idea of maternity clothes. The idea of getting to “dress the bump” was something I looked forward to as I grew into my second trimester. While I tried to stay fairly practical with my purchases, I’ll admit I picked up a few items simply because they were cute to wear when pregnant and felt like special buys that I’d hold onto and remember. But at the start of my second pregnancy, I discovered Quince maternity clothes, which are affordable and have tons of glowing reviews.

As a second-time mom, my tune on maternity fashion has changed considerably. Dressing a pregnant body is now going hand in hand with running after a chaotic toddler. So I need maternity clothes that are a lot more practical. However, along with that, my second pregnancy has also brought along a bump a lot quicker than my first pregnancy. I now have the need for a few essentials for a maternity capsule simply to fit my growing body.

While I didn’t mind splurging a bit on a few items during my first pregnancy (hi, HATCH!), my maternity clothing budget is a lot smaller this time around. That’s why I’m turning to Quince, which offers a lot of similar styles to higher-priced brands at a fraction of the price.

What is Quince?

Quince is a site that purports to sell quality for less. While the brand sells clothing for men, women, children, and babies, they also sell home goods, accessories, and more. Seriously—they have caviar to buy on the site!

If your social media has been blown up with looks from the brand, you aren’t alone. In the past year, the brand has become a household name for making dupes of some well-known and loved luxury styles and shapes. And they do it for far less by making everything in-house as a direct-to-consumer brand.

I’ve always been fairly dubious when it comes to brands that makes popular styles for less. But, pre-pregnancy, I gave the brand a try when I picked up their Mongolian Cashmere Oversized Boyfriend Cardigan Sweater. The style is inspired by the similar Jenni Kayne Oversized Cashmere Cardigan, but at about a third of the price. I figured there was no harm in giving cashmere a try at such a welcome price point and was genuinely surprised by how impressive the quality was. The cashmere was incredibly soft, and the fit was perfectly oversized. It’s lasted well with wear over the months and been well worth the under-$200 price I paid.

So, with that in mind, I had an idea of the quality to expect when I picked up a few maternity items. These were a few of my favorite Quince maternity clothes I picked up:

Quince Gauze Midi Dress

I live in Florida, which means I deal with warmer temperatures for about 70 to 80 percent of the year. While I skipped most of the dress options in lieu of pants and leggings, I couldn’t resist trying this breathable Organic Cotton Gauze Maternity Smocked Ruffle Hem Midi Dress

I’m no stranger to smocked dresses with or without being pregnant, but I love the lightweight fabric of this for hot and humid days when I want to be comfortable and still look put together (basically, any day I’m not wearing leggings during pregnancy).

Quince Cotton Maternity Overalls

I remember seeing something very similar to these Organic Cotton Maternity Overalls being sold during my first pregnancy. But, I could never get myself to pay the $100+ price tag. This time around, I went for it (at half the price).

To me, the style just screams ’90s pregnant mom, and there’s something very nostalgic about it to this former ’90s baby. The adjustable straps also make it incredibly comfortable. I appreciate that it’s stretchy and not too long on my short frame (I’m 5 feet 2 inches for reference). These have become a staple for my work-from-home lifestyle, paired with an easy tee and a baseball hat.

Quince Maternity Bike Shorts

The two items I knew I would need to buy maternity versions of were bike shorts and leggings. So I’m happy to say I loved both from Quince. The Ultra-Form Maternity & Postpartum Bike Short is incredibly comfortable and stretchy. They fit over my stomach without rolling down (though it’s notable that the band can be worn over or under the bump comfortably).

I love the pockets, but the real star for me is the length. The shorts are long enough to wear under an oversized shirt or sweatshirt and never roll up on my thighs. I got them in my pre-pregnancy size medium and found it to be a great fit. I fully plan to wear these post-pregnancy as well!

Quince Maternity Leggings

The Ultra-Form Maternity & Postpartum Leggings are equally comfortable, with a fit that I’d say is a little more generous. I also purchased my pre-pregnancy size medium. However, I found it to be a little loose up top compared to the same size in the bike shorts.

As someone who is shorter, I appreciate that there are two inseam sizes to choose from for the leggings. This allows me to not have to worry about altering the length.

Quince Maternity Crewneck Tees

One of my most regretted purchases during my first pregnancy was a maternity T-shirt. It was more expensive than I usually would’ve spent on a plain tee, and never anything I felt like I needed throughout my pregnancy.

This time around, I chose the Cotton Modal Maternity Crewneck Tee 2-Pack. That’s two T-shirts for less than the price I paid for one. These are comfy, stretchy, and functional, but I will say they’re probably the two least “quality” items I bought. The white shirt is fairly thin, meaning you can easily see my bra through it. I like the gray quite a bit better in comparison. I’d recommend purchasing a patterned or non-white version if you’re looking for some functional maternity tees.

Quince Maternity and Postpartum Brief

One of the unsung heroes of maternity wear is the pregnancy and postpartum brief. And these Micromodal High-Waisted Maternity & Postpartum Briefs are easily my favorite that I’ve ever tried. Coming in a pack of six, the high-waisted undergarments are incredibly comfortable and breathable. They also provide gentle support for your growing belly (or healing belly postpartum).

While I had picked up a few maternity undergarments during my first pregnancy, it wasn’t until postpartum, as I was healing from a C-section, that I found truly good and supportive options. I’m glad to have discovered these to have a more affordable alternative throughout the full process.
