5 Recipes TikTok Made Me Crave

As the main chef in our house, I can get a little overwhelmed with the need to create meals that will not only satisfy my taste buds, but also those of my very picky toddlers. And to be honest, due to COVID, it has put our family in an endless merry-go-round of the same old recipes that I know my family will eat but also won’t take up too much time.

Coming from a family full of chefs and restaurant owners, food has held a special place in my heart. Cooking a hot meal for the family is not just a way to fuel our bodies, but a way to show our love for one another. But despite my love for it, when I was left cooking every single day without our usual rotation of meals from local restaurants, it left me feeling like meals were more of a chore than a passion.

TikTok has been my go-to for entertainment lately, but did you also know there is a wealth of delicious and easy recipes being shared on the platform? When I first fell into the recipes TikTok had to offer I was quickly inspired to try some new things in the kitchen.

Here are 5 of my favorite recipes from TikTok.

1. Baked Feta Pasta

This recipe literally made feta cheese go out of stock in multiple grocery stores. At first, I was worried that the kids would not go near this meal with a ten-foot pole because they are die-hard mac and cheese fans, but thankfully it was a hit! The pasta was beautifully creamy and delicious enough that I know my dad (who was a chef) would be proud.

2. Overnight Cheesecake Oats

My kids are obsessed with these overnight oats that taste like a literal desert. These are great for busy households and a good go-to when the kids want to help you cook.

3. Honey Aleppo Chicken Puff Pastry

If you are craving a restaurant-quality meal that you can make quickly, this is a perfect option. Every time I make what we refer to as “Buffalo Chicken puff pastry,” my husband says that he feels like he’s eating a gourmet roll without the price.

4. Folded Tortilla Sandwich

If you are tired of boring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, this part-recipe, part-meal-hack will elevate your family’s sandwich game. We also love how each sandwich can easily be customizable to each person’s preferences.
